Sarath Kumar bags Spanish Moto3 ride

NEW DELHI: Young rider Sarath Kumar finally got a much-needed break as he gets ready to compete in the Spanish Moto3 Championships this year with the Monlau Competicion team, announced in Chennai on Wednesday. The Chennai biker will be supported by south Indian actor R. Sarath Kumar through his sports management company — the SK-Sarath69 Sports Pvt Ltd — that was also launched on the occasion.Sarath, who in 2011 became the first Indian to compete in the 125cc class of MotoGP, also participated in the Italian championship the following year, marked by a podium finish in Monza.
Due to financial constraints Sarath's career with Mahindra Racing had come to an abrupt end as failed to raise the essential finances to race in the Italian Championships. "It is a dream come true to race in the Spanish Moto3 championship, considering the great riders who have participated in the same. Monlau Competicion is a winning team and I hope I can help them continue their winning ways. The more experience I get the more confident I feel and the faster I go. This is a huge opportunity for me so I hope I can make my country proud," Sarath said on Wednesday.
BIC track day on February 17
New Delhi: The Buddh International Circuit (BIC) here will host the Time Trial (Open track day) for general public on February 17. The open track day at the circuit will give speed fanatics a chance to test their driving skills. The registeration fee for an hour's session in a car will be Rs. 4,000 while for a bike it will be Rs. 3,000. Fans can also enjoy Taxi Rides in Mercedes SLS (twin seater) and Mercedes C, E and ML Class from certified circuit drivers at a cost of Rs.7500 and Rs.1500 per person, respectively.
