BURIRAM: India rider Rajiv Sethu went off to a good start in
Asia Road Racing Championship
(ARRC) at the
Chang International Circuit
here on Friday. The IDEMITSU
Honda
Racing India rider, who is still in the top-7 and has a great chance to finish within top-10, recorded his best lap time of 1:55:084 in the free practice session. With a gap of only 2:045 seconds separating him from the leading Indonesian rider Rafid Topan, who stopped the clock at 1:53:039, Rajiv will be aiming to finish on a high.
With the battle for AP250 title still open, there was hardly anything to separate the top 15 riders.
Ruling Friday's combined practice from the front was Rafid (1:53:039) followed by AP Honda Racing team's Thai rider duo of Piyawat Patoomyos (1:53:157) and Muklada Sarapuech (1:53:194).
Going by the current form, it can be expected that Rajiv will give a tough challenge to some of the Asia's best riders in the final round.
