PKL: U Mumba back to winning ways
PUNE: When Dabang Delhi KC were heading into their second all-out of the night in the 24th minute, defender Ravinder Pahal was among the last two men left on the mat. Distraught, he turned to his team after his partner Rajesh Narwal’s unsuccessful raid, and did not even bother to contest in the following raid allowing U Mumba’s Siddharth Desai a simple raid point. This was the story of the night as U Mumba thumped Delhi 39-23 to climb to the top of the Zone A table with 62 points.
Desai, who has the most number of raid points this season (153), entered the opposition half like a man possessed. There were a couple of instances where the Delhi defenders got a hold of him but he dragged them into his half.
The sturdy raider, who was a steal for U-Mumba for Rs 36.4 lakhs this season, attracted roars of appreciation from the crowd. His raiding coupled with Fazel Atrachali’s defending caused an early all-out for Delhi.
Bengaluru beat Thalaivas
Rohit Kumar led from the front to give Bengaluru Bulls their first victory at their new home here against Tamil Thalaivas. The skipper scored 11 points in a game where his team forced two all-outs in the 36-22 win.
Bengaluru raced into an early lead with strong defence and attack in the 5th minute. Lack of coordination cost the Thalaivas dear.
