, the India skipper and only kabaddi player ever to receive Padma Shri, has been retained by the
Tamil Thalaivas for the second successive year for the upcoming Season 7 of the
Pro Kabaddi League, set to get underway from July 19 later this year.
Thakur is one of the 29 elite retained players announced by the 11 franchises on Monday. According to a press release issued by the organisers,
Puneri Paltan is the only franchise that has not retained any player. Retained New Young Players list will be revealed soon while the non-retained players will go under the hammer at the auctions to be held in the City on April 8 and 9 next month.
Star raider Pardeep Narwal will continue to be associated with the three-time champions Patna Pirates for the fifth consecutive season.
Rohit Kumar and Season 6 sensation Pawan Kumar Sehrawat will stay with the defending champions Bengaluru Bulls.
Iranians, Fazel Atrachali (U Mumba), Mohsen Maghsoudloujafari (Telugu Titans), Meraj Sheykh (Dabang Delhi) and Farhad Rahimi Milaghardan (Telugu Titans) have been retained by their respective teams.
