The achievement is significant as it is the first time an Indian has won a medal in para-judo, following Parmar becoming the first from the country to qualify for the Paralympic Games.
Parmar's win has taken India's medal tally in the Paralympic Games in Paris to 25, with the country currently holding the 14th position in the overall medals tally.
India's count now includes five gold, nine silver, and 11 bronze medals.
Parmar, a 24-year-old from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, had previously faced defeat against Iran's Banitaba Anitaba Khoram Seyed Meysam in the semifinals. He was downed by an Ippon in a bout where he also received a penalty.
