NEW DELHI: Simran, the Indian sprinter, continued her impressive performance by securing a spot in the women's 100m (T12) final at the Paralympics on Thursday. The 24-year-old world champion from New Delhi, guided by Abhay Singh, clocked 12.33sec in the semifinal race, finishing second behind Katrin Mueller-Rottgardt of Germany in semifinal 2.

Despite being born prematurely with visual impairment, Simran showcased her talent and determination, ranking third overall in the semis. She will now compete against three other sprinters in the final, which is set to take place later tonight.

In her heats on Wednesday, Simran had already demonstrated her potential by producing a season's best effort of 12.17sec.

The final will feature a strong lineup, including Simran, Mueller-Rottgardt, Oksana Boturchuk of Ukraine, and the reigning Paralympic champion and world record holder Omara Durand from Cuba. These athletes will battle it out for the top honours in the T12 category, which is designated for athletes with visual impairment.
