Neeraj made history on Thursday by securing back-to-back Olympic medals, adding a silver medal in Paris to his Tokyo gold -- the first Indian track-and-field athlete to do so.

Meanwhile, the Indian hockey team showcased their skills and determination in a thrilling third-place match against Spain, emerging victorious with a score of 2-1 and clinching the bronze medal. It is the team's second successive bronze medal after medal-less 41 years from 1980 to 2021.

The Speaker, Om Birla, acknowledged the significance of these accomplishments, stating that the triumphs of the hockey team and Chopra are indeed momentous. He emphasized that their successes will serve as a source of motivation for aspiring young athletes across the country.

The Speaker also conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the sports persons for their outstanding performances.
