Video: Cricketer Stuart Binny interviewed by wife Mayanti Langer on marriage anniversary

NEW DELHI: On Friday, Stuart Binny put up an allround performance for his team Belagavi Panthers in the ongoing Karnataka Premier League. What made that show even more memorable was the fact that Friday (September 8) was also his marriage anniversary.
And it got only better as his better-half Mayanti Langer, a sports presenter, interviewed him on their 'special day'.

Panthers won the toss and opted to bat first against Bengaluru Blasters and after they were reduced to 32/4, Binny rescued them with a brilliant 46-ball 87 that pushed them to a huge 192/7 in 20 overs. Then Binny picked up two wickets as well with Blasters being bowled out for 169 in 19.3 overs.
For his allround performance, Binny was adjudged as man of the match.
Later, the 33-year-old who has represented India in six Tests, 14 ODIs and 3 T20Is, posted a picture of him with wife Mayanti on Instagram, expressing his happiness over "cricket" bringing the duo together.

Mayanti also took to social media quoting a clip of the chat with her husband on Twitter.

Last year in January, New Zealand cricketer Martin Guptill was interviewed by his wife Laura McGoldrick after the big-hitting batsman recorded his 10th century in an ODI against Sri Lanka. The most famous instance of a sportsperson being interviewed by their spouses came during the FIFA World Cup 2010 when Spain goalkeeper was interviewed by his girlfriend (now wife) Sara Carbonero and the custodian went on to kiss her on camera.
