Maqsood revealed that he had sold a car worth Rs 14 million to the showroom and received another vehicle valued at Rs 7 million in return. However, he later discovered that the car’s documents were fake.His revelation quickly went viral, sparking outrage among fans and prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities. Both the Regional Police Officer (RPO) and City Police Officer (CPO) of Multan immediately took notice of Maqsood’s complaint and assured him that the matter would be investigated on priority.Maqsood personally met the RPO, who guaranteed a fair and speedy inquiry. The CPO later reaffirmed the police’s commitment in an official statement, declaring, “Fraud with a national star will not be tolerated,” and confirmed that legal proceedings had been initiated against those involved.

After nine months of legal wrangling, Maqsood announced on Friday, October 24, that the issue had been resolved and that he had finally retrieved his car.“I would like to pay a huge thanks to @MohsinnaqviC42 and @MaryamNSharif for helping in retrieving my car after almost nine months. Truth always wins. Huge thanks to RPO Multan and CPO Multan for taking quick action,” Maqsood wrote on X, adding that Punjab Police and government officials had been in constant touch to ensure justice.

In his post, Maqsood expressed gratitude towards PCB Chairman and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, as well as Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, for personally assisting in the matter.Maqsood, who last represented Pakistan in 2021, has played 29 ODIs and 26 T20Is, scoring 781 and 273 runs respectively.
