Ramita Jindal, a third-year B.Com (Hons) student of Hansraj College secured two medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games recently. Ramita secured a silver in the women's 10m air rifle team and an individual bronze at the same event. “I love both - studying and shooting. Both need focus so it helps me to manage. I am not able to go to college regularly. It is also not possible for me since the camp is in Delhi, coaching is in Chennai and then international matches. I usually go only for exams,” she told us on the sidelines of the felicitation ceremony in the city for Asian Games medalists.
“It was my first Asian Games and I can’t explain in words how I am feeling. I feel incredible seeing everyone around me so proud of me. My parents are very happy, they cried when I got the medal. I have a joint family so they were on a video call and all of them were excited to talk to me,” shared Ramita.
