Veteran forward Brad Marchand reached a major career landmark this week, as he went on to register his 1,000th point in the NHL. Marchand achieved this remarkable score as his team, the Florida Panthers, locked horns with the Washington Capitals on November 13, 2025, and won the match with an impressive 6-3 score.
But the achievement is less about the number and more about the unwavering work ethic and self-imposed urgency that have powered his journey. Many believe that Marchand could achieve this only due to constant improvements, accepting no shortcuts, a huge commitment, and a strong work ethic.
Patrice Bergeron, who spent more than a decade as Marchand's linemate with the Bruins, also admitted to the same. He stated, "The work ethic for Brad was incredible. With his game-breaking ability, he would always be extremely clutch and take it up a notch every time we needed something important or late in games.”
Panthers veteran Brad Marchand reaches 1,000 career points against the Washington Capitals
Veteran forward Brad Marchand scored a major milestone on Thursday night by reaching the coveted 1,000-career-point mark. Apart from achieving the 1,000 career points against the Capitals, he also helped the Florida Panthers to a 6-3 victory over the Washington Capitals at Amerant Bank Arena on November 13, 2025.
According to the NHL, Marchand has recently become the 36th player in NHL history to record 1,000 games (1,116), 1,000 points, and 1,000 penalty minutes (1,133), numbers that will only increase for a player signed for five more seasons after this one.
But what fueled the Panthers veteran to reach 1,000 career points? It is his unwavering passion for the game, relentless work ethic, exceptional discipline, and strong chemistry with linemates. It has also been reported that Brad Marchand had two assists to reach 1,000 career points; they were Seth Jones and Evan Rodrigues, who also scored their 100th career goal as the Florida Panthers defeated the
Washington Capitals. In addition to this, Daniil Tarasov (1-3-1) also made 37 saves for his first win as a member of the Panthers.
Moreover, speaking about his never-slowing-down attitude, Marchand also added, "I keep chasing. I love the game. I love playing in the NHL. I love being part of a team and being in the room with the guys. I still feel really good. I still feel like I can play. Until I don't, I'm going to keep chasing it." Fans are now looking forward to his 1,200 points and reports suggest Brad Marchand is just 84 games from registering his 1,200th goal.
