In a video that has now gone viral, two fans in Edmonton Oilers jerseys are seen being approached in a supermarket with tickets for the Stanley Cup Finals being sold to them for just $1 each.
The fans look surprised but then the host hands them a letter which reads as, “You will not be home tonight because the Gretzky family are inviting you to the Stanley Cup game tonight”.
Both the fans seemed emotional and shocked about how the NHL legend would be joining them. The host then also handed them over $1000 cash, but both of them gave it away to another person, even though they had admitted they needed the money for “rent and food”.
The video has gone viral and made the Oilers’ fans very emotional. A fan commented, ““OH YEAH” May every day be the best day of their lives for Davin and Eric ����”
Another fan wrote, “I love this so much ������ he said they needed it for rent and food and gave it away �������� please make a gofundme for these brothers ❤️”, while a third fan commented, “Zach thank you for doing this for my nephews, a day that they will remember for ever. They are still so excited and can’t believe it really happened.”
Recently, Wayne Gretzky appeared on a recent episode of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights and spoke about the Oilers.
He said, "I want you to know, I am the only guy in the TNT panel that picked Edmonton to get to the finals….”
