Matthew Tkachuk trolled Brandon Hagel's Team USA jab before the 4 Nations Face-Off Final

Matthew Tkachuk, one of Team USA’s stars, laughed off the comment, implying that team communication off the ice is a sign of camaraderie, not weakness. He emphasized that Team USA is focused on representing their country and making the most of this big opportunity.

"Well, I mean maybe their team doesn’t like each other if they don’t have group chats," Tkachuk said with a smile, via Sportsnet. “I think that our team does not care about anything that they say, and there’s been a lot of chatter and talk from individuals, but we care about one thing in this room and we have millions of people that are watching us and supporting us around this country and we’re very prideful in playing for them and the guys in the room. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for us.”

Tkachuk, who sat out Team USA’s last game against Sweden as a precaution, confirmed he’s fully ready for the final against Canada. In response to Brandon Hagel’s claim that the Americans play for the cameras, Tkachuk dismissed the idea, stressing that he and his teammates take great pride in representing their country. He made it clear that their focus is on playing for the flag and the fans who support them.

His return is a big boost for Team USA, as he brings skill, leadership, and a physical edge to the game. With tensions already high from their previous matchup, his presence only adds to the intensity of this much-anticipated final.
