Brad Marchand is confident in his new team's championship potential. Speaking about his move to the Florida Panthers, he highlighted their depth, experience, and drive as key factors in his decision, calling it the ideal destination for his next chapter.
"I just looked at the group and that’s the team that has the ability to go all the way again," Brad Marchand said. "When you match the drive, experience, and the depth of the group, it’s a very dangerous combination. When things were coming up and it kind of writing was on the wall, this is absolutely the place I wanted to go.”
On the "Morning Cuppa Hockey" podcast, ESPN’s John Buccigross predicted that Brad Marchand will sign with the Montreal Canadiens in free agency after this season. "I think he wants to stay in the northeast," Buccigross said. "So I'll go Montreal-Marchand. Go off the board a little bit there. Short flight to Boston if the family stays in Boston, 40-minute flight, and come home on weekends.”
Brad Marchand has accumulated 422 goals and 554 assists, totaling 976 points in his career. The 36-year-old is currently sidelined with an injury and has yet to debut for the Panthers but is expected to return before the playoffs.
