Minnesota Wild roster update: 31 players dropped from its training camp
The NHL club Minnesota Wild has recently updated its roster for the upcoming season. As per the organization, they have reduced the training roster by 31 players, and this was announced by Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin on 29 September 2025. According to reports, the Wild reassigned these 31 players to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Iowa Wild. Besides, the Minnesota Wild will host the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow at 7 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Network North and KFAN FM 100.3.
The Minnesota Wild has recently reduced its training roster for the 2025-26 NHL season. The club has trimmed the group to 31 players. This was announced by the President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Bill Guerin, on Monday, September 29. The club confirmed that it will continue its preparations for the regular season with the existing number of players.
According to The Minnesota Wild, the club has assigned forwards Caedan Bankier and Rasmus Kumpulainen, defensemen Carson Lambos and David Spacek, and goaltenders Samuel Hlavaj and Riley Mercer to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
In addition to this, Minnesota also placed forwards Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Ben Jones and defensemen Ben Gleason and Matt Kiersted on waivers for assignment to Iowa (AHL), and meanwhile released defenseman Wyatt Newpower from his professional tryout. He will also report to the Iowa Wild training camp.
To celebrate their 25 years of existence, the Minnesota Wild unveiled a new jersey that will be worn four times throughout the 2025-26 season. They will don the jersey on Tuesday, in their match with the Winnipeg Jets. Unveiling the jersey, the Wild shared a glimpse of the jersey on their X/Twitter handle, stating, “Classic home journey returns. An ode to the classics.”
According to reports, the team has added a new elevated experience to the Old National Bank Suite level, known as the “Suite 25 Experience” to celebrate their 25 years anniversary. With the Suite 25 Experience, fans will enjoy a newly renovated suite, meet and greet with Wild personalities, and much more for all home games this season.
