Fights are common in the ice hockey arena. It’s how NHL players calm down the aggressive ice hockey player. It’s how a hockey player responds to another hockey player’s hard hits or dirty plays. Fights act as bait to distract NHL players. Some fights often take place to excite the ice hockey fans watching from the NHL stands.

One such brawl eventuated between Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber and Los Angeles Kings former center Jeremy Roenick. It was a playful brawl. It was not serious. Both of them were fighting like giant, gliding teddy bears. And it was just to rouse up the spirits of everyone around them.

A celebration amongst celebrities, former NHL players, and LA first responders is what Skate for LA Strong looked like

However, the three heads - NHL, Pop Culture or Hollywood, and LA first responders (LAFD, LAPD, and LAcoFD) came together for one goal. That goal was called ‘A celebration to support the fire recovery efforts in Los Angeles, a charity event for the courageous LA responders and victims of the LA wildfires.'

Thanks to the Los Angeles Kings, who partnered with the National Hockey League to bring Skate for LA Strong to reality. This celebration took place at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, that is, February 23rd, 2025, at 3 PM ET (Yes, exactly when the Edmonton Oilers were to battle with the Washington Capitals but at a different arena, of course, called the Capital One Arena).

Justin Bieber and Jeremy Roenick fight on the ice hockey arena during Skate for LA Strong

There were four teams- Team Black, Team Red, Team Blue, and Team White. Justin Bieber belonged to Team Black, and Jeremy Roenick belonged to Team Red. It was a charity event, but brawls did not leave the arena. Brawls are common and welcome in an ice hockey game. Well, that’s what ensued between NHL Hall of Famer Jeremy Roenick from the Team Red and global pop icon Justin Bieber from the Team Black.

In the second half of the match between Team Black and Team Red, Jeremy Roenick and Justin Bieber got into a fight. Bieber pulled the shirt-grab defense tactic of martial arts on Roenick, which disabled Roenick. Bieber then gave off two to three light-hearted fake punches to Roenick. Roenick, coming from the land of ice hockey fights, gave a few fake cute punches back to the global pop icon.

Team Red’s Derek Armstrong and Team Black’s Nate Thompson intervened to separate Justin Bieber and Jeremy Roenick

The cute clash between Justin Bieber and Jeremy Roenick was interrupted by Derek Armstrong and Nate Thompson. Justin then let go of Jeremy. Justin Bieber then skated away through the crowd, saluting them and handshaking with them. Thereby, further jousting the crowd, who was already watching the cute clash between the celebrity and the former NHL player.

PS: For those wondering who won between these two brawlers, Team Red, led by 55-year-old Jeremy Roenick, emerged victorious!
