NHL fans are in awe of Kirk Herbstreit’s beloved dog
The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-3 in a thrilling Stadium Series match at Ohio Stadium, drawing the second-largest outdoor crowd to ever watch an NHL game. Kirk Herbstreit's dog, Peter, was among the few who got a glimpse of the action, as he climbed on the glass to witness the thrilling match.
Peter and Kirk graciously provided an interview where they discussed the 16-month-old's sporting attend bonafides. Herbstreit, a prominent ESPN college football analyst and Amazon analyst, was previously accompanied by Ben, who gained internet fame before his death in November.
The duo was praised by fans for their bravery in harsh weather conditions. One fan wrote, "I love that @KirkHerbstreit brings Peter everywhere. Bring him to the frozen four Kirk, he can go between the benches with me!" Another wrote, "14/10 good boy alert." A third wrote, Definitely a Hockey Guy!”
Herbstreit is an analyst for ESPN's College GameDay, a television show broadcasting college football, and does color commentary on college football games for ESPN and ABC and Thursday night NFL games on Prime Video. For his work on television, Herbstreit has been awarded five Sports Emmy Awards in different categories. He appeared yearly as a commentator in EA Sports' NCAA Football video game series, including following a ten-year hiatus.
