Tyler Allgeier’s Fantasy Football Outlook for 2024: Should You Draft Him?

Tyler Allgeier's fantasy football outlook for 2024 appears dim as... Read More
If you’ve been daydreaming about picking up a potential sleeper at running back this fantasy football season, Tyler Allgeier might not be the one to fill that blank space. Let’s break down what you can expect from the Atlanta Falcons' RB2 in 2024, and trust me, it’s not exactly something you’ll want to shake off.

So, the Falcons have a new sheriff in town - Raheem Morris has taken over from Arthur Smith. Last year, Smith kept fantasy managers on their toes by giving Allgeier more playing time than expected, which kinda messed with Bijan Robinson's fantasy value. But this year? It's looking like the Bijan show, with Allgeier relegated to the sidelines.

Remember Allgeier's rookie season? He was crushing it with over 1,000 rushing yards. But last year, with Robinson in the mix, Allgeier's numbers took a nosedive. We're talking a drop from 1,035 yards to just 683, and his yards per carry went from a respectable 4.9 to a not-so-hot 3.7. Ouch.

Expect those numbers to dip even further this season. As fantasy experts point out, “Unless Bijan Robinson suffers a major injury, Allgeier's fantasy outlook makes for dismissive reading.”

Now, let's talk about what the new coach is saying. Morris isn't mincing words here. He straight up said:

"In as simple of a form as you can possibly make it, it's 'get the ball to Bijan as much as you can in as many ideal situations that you possibly can.'"

That's pretty clear, right? Bijan is the main man and Allgeier... well, he's the backup plan.

So where does this leave Allgeier for your fantasy draft? He's currently sitting at RB43, hanging out with guys like Ty Chandler and Chuba Hubbard. Not exactly the cream of the crop. Sure, you could grab him as a handcuff for Bijan, but let's be real - he might not even make it onto draft boards in a lot of leagues.

Bottom line? Unless Robinson gets hurt, Allgeier's probably going to be warming the bench more than racking up points for your fantasy team. Tough break for Tyler, but that's the game sometimes.
