Throwback to when Shannon Sharpe allegedly discussed birth control with model before assault allegations

Shannon Sharpe, the NFL legend, has had a highly successful career, but things came to a halt earlier this year when a young model accused him of sexually abusing her multiple times in the last two years. Shannon Sharpe denied the accusations initially and yet ended up paying a hefty amount to the young woman to settle the lawsuit. Amid all the mess, Shannon Sharpe’s texts to the young woman painted a different picture of what happened behind closed doors.A few months ago, back in April 2025, as the young model accused Shannon Sharpe of sexual assault, he tried to prove his innocence by leaking some of the texts that the two had exchanged.In 2023, in one of the texts, the young model allegedly wrote, “i want you to put a dog collar around my neck and choke me with it while ur f–king me.”In another set of texts from November 2023, the young model wrote, “only if you put that baby gravy in me, then u can do whatever u want to me. … i literally ate so much food i look like I’m pregnant with ur big black baby.”To this, Shannon Sharpe had replied, “IF* I still f**k with you around my bday in [20]24. You can take IUD out.”As per Shannon Sharpe, the relationship that he shared with the young model was “purely consensual” while the woman alleged that even though she had consented to the intimacy a few times, the NFL legend had also sexually assaulted her earlier this year.This prompted Shannon Sharpe’s legal team to issue a statement that read as, "Mr. Sharpe categorically denies all allegations of coercion or misconduct — especially the gross lie of 'rape' — and will not submit to what he sees as an egregious attempt at blackmail…”The statement added, “He stands firmly by the truth and is prepared to fight these false claims vigorously in court…”However, despite the strong denial, as per reports, Shannon Sharpe ended up paying a whopping $20 million to the model to settle the lawsuit.Also Read: "Pumping is not easy to do": Cardi B opens up on the pressure to breastfeed while preparing for motherhood with Stefon Diggs
