With Super Bowl LX just days away, the conservative organization has confirmed its plans to air an alternative broadcast during one of television’s most watched moments. As Bad Bunny prepares to perform on the NFL’s main stage in Santa Clara, a different kind of show will unfold elsewhere.
The decision has sharpened an already loud cultural debate. For Turning Point USA, the move is framed as a response to what supporters view as the NFL’s dismissal of backlash surrounding Bad Bunny’s selection. Critics have pointed to his Spanish-language music and past political commentary as reasons the league should have reconsidered. Instead, the NFL stayed firm, reinforcing its long-standing stance that no halftime performer will ever satisfy everyone.
Why the All-American Halftime Show is still shrouded in mystery
The pushback reached the commissioner’s office months ago, but National Football League leadership refused to blink. Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the criticism directly last fall, saying, “I'm not sure we've ever selected an artist where we didn't have some blowback or criticism. It's pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching.” That comment has since become a rallying point for those backing the alternative broadcast.
The Turning Point USA Halftime Show will spotlight rock and country artists known for outspoken, patriotic, and conservative views. Headlined by Kid Rock, the lineup also includes Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. Promoting the event, Kid Rock took a swipe at the NFL’s halftime direction, saying, “[Bad Bunny] said he’s having a dance party, wearing a dress, and singing in Spanish? Cool… We plan to play great songs for folks who love America.”
The All-American Halftime Show will stream for free across Turning Point USA’s digital platforms, including YouTube, Rumble, X, and Charlie Kirk’s YouTube channel. Several conservative-leaning television networks are also expected to carry the broadcast.
While novelty counterprogramming is nothing new during the Super Bowl, this effort is different. It is political, intentional, and designed to compete for attention during the same minutes millions will be watching the NFL’s biggest spectacle.
