Who do the Bills play next? NFL reveals Divisional Round matchup and kickoff time

The Buffalo Bills now know what stands between them and a spot in the AFC Championship Game. After a hard-fought Wild Card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL has officially revealed Buffalo’s Divisional Round opponent, along with the date and kickoff time for the highly anticipated clash.

The Bills will face the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round, setting up a rematch with major playoff implications.

Bills head to Denver

Buffalo, the No. 6 seed in the AFC, will travel to Denver to take on the top-seeded Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High. The game is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. MT (4:00 a.m. IST). The matchup will be broadcast live on CBS.

This game comes with a challenging turnaround for the Bills. They are coming off a physical Wild Card battle in Jacksonville, meaning they will play two playoff games in just six days. In contrast, Denver earned a first-round bye and will be well-rested, having not played in nearly two weeks.



The Bills and Broncos met in the playoffs last season, but under very different circumstances. That game was played in Buffalo, where the Bills stormed back after an early scare to record a dominant win. This time, the roles are reversed. Denver enters as the No. 1 seed with home-field advantage, while Buffalo must win on the road to keep its Super Bowl hopes alive.

Quarterback Josh Allen once again holds the key for Buffalo. Despite taking several hits in the Wild Card round, Allen delivered a strong performance and showed his ability to lift the team when it matters most. Head coach Sean McDermott has already admitted that the Bills will need to raise their level against a rested and confident Broncos side.

NFL schedule decision sparks debate

The NFL’s scheduling decision has also drawn attention. While Denver benefits from extended rest, Buffalo faces a short recovery window before heading into a hostile environment at altitude. Former players and coaches have questioned whether the league’s playoff scheduling fairly balances rest and recovery, especially this late in the season.



Still, the Bills have little choice but to adapt. Their Wild Card win over Jacksonville proved they can win on the road, something they will need to do again to continue their postseason run.

A win in Denver would send Buffalo to the AFC Championship Game and mark one of the biggest road victories of the Josh Allen era. A loss, however, would end another promising season just short of the final hurdle.

For now, the path is clear. The Bills play the Broncos next, on the road, with everything on the line.
