For all the Super Bowl rings, late nights, and pressure that come with being one of the NFL’s most successful coaches, Andy Reid has always maintained that his most important role is not on the sideline. It is at home. The longtime Kansas City Chiefs head coach and his wife Tammy are parents to five children, a family story shaped by football, resilience, and deeply personal challenges.
Andy and Tammy Reid share three sons Garrett, Britt, and Spencer and two daughters, Crosby and Drew Ann. Due to Reid’s early coaching journey, each of their five children was born in a different U.S. state, a detail that has become a quiet symbol of how football and family life intertwined from the very beginning.
Garrett Reid
Garrett was the Reids’ eldest child. While he worked in football-related roles early in his life, he also struggled with substance abuse for nearly a decade. In August 2012, Garrett died from an accidental heroin overdose at the age of 29 while working at the Philadelphia Eagles’ training camp. Andy and Tammy have since spoken about remembering Garrett as a fighter with a big heart, and his loss remains a defining chapter in the Reid family’s story.
Britt Reid
Britt, the second-oldest child, followed his father into coaching and worked on NFL staffs, including Kansas City’s. However, his career and personal life were derailed following a drunk-driving crash in 2021 that seriously injured a young child. In 2022, Britt was sentenced to three years in prison. The incident cast a heavy shadow during a period when Andy Reid was achieving the highest professional success of his career.
Crosby Reid
Crosby is the eldest of the two Reid daughters and has largely stayed out of the public eye. She gained brief attention in 2019 when she performed the national anthem at Arrowhead Stadium. Andy Reid has often joked that her musical talent clearly comes from Tammy, not him. Crosby has also spoken emotionally about family milestones, including Andy’s first Super Bowl win, which she described as bittersweet without Garrett.
Drew Ann Reid
Drew Ann, the fourth child, maintains an especially private life. She is married and has children of her own, rarely appearing in media or public events. Her choice to stay out of the spotlight reflects how the Reid family balances fame with normalcy.
Spencer Reid
The youngest, Spencer, has carved out a career in football strength and conditioning rather than coaching. He has worked with college programs and later joined the Chiefs’ staff, allowing father and son to share NFL sidelines during playoff runs.
Through triumph and tragedy, Andy Reid’s family story remains deeply human, marked not just by championships, but by perseverance, accountability, and enduring loyalty to one another.
