Jalen Milroe entered the NFL with questions attached and money already on the table. The former Alabama quarterback was one of the most debated prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, praised for his ceiling and scrutinized for his inconsistencies. Seattle still moved quickly, betting on upside over polish.
Drafted No. 92 overall by the Seattle Seahawks, Milroe now sits behind a veteran starter, a rookie contract in hand, and a track record of strong NIL earnings. The numbers are clear. The timeline is tight. And the pressure clock has already started.
Jalen Milroe’s rookie contract sets the floor, not the ceiling, for his NFL earnings
Per Spotrac, Jalen Milroe is projected to sign a four-year, $6.26 million rookie contract with the Seahawks under the NFL’s rookie wage scale. Because he was not a first-round pick, the deal does not include a fifth-year team option. Seattle will have to make a decision on his future by his third season.
The contract includes a signing bonus of $1.19 million and average annual earnings of roughly $1.57 million. His cap hit in Year 1 projects just over $1.13 million, giving Seattle a low-risk development window while he learns behind Sam Darnold and Drew Lock.
Milroe is not expected to start immediately. The Seahawks signed Darnold to a three-year, $100 million deal earlier this offseason, signaling stability at the position in the short term. Seattle also traded Sam Howell to the Minnesota Vikings after drafting Milroe, narrowing the quarterback room and confirming Milroe’s place as a long-term project.
That project comes with urgency. If Seattle wants to avoid letting him walk after four seasons, the evaluation window is short. Development must happen fast, especially for a quarterback whose draft stock hinged on raw traits rather than refined tape.
Jalen Milroe’s NIL money and college earnings already reshaped his financial baseline
Before he ever took an NFL snap, Milroe built significant value through NIL. According to On3 Sports, his NIL valuation peaked at $2.5 million in 2024, ranking fourth among all college football players. He was the highest-earning athlete on Alabama’s roster during that stretch.
Milroe signed endorsement deals with EA Sports, Beats by Dre, Rhoback, Six Star Pro Nutrition, and Armani Beauty. In one Armani Beauty promotion, Milroe wrote, “On the field and off, it’s about making a statement.” The quote matched the brand and his public image. It also reflected his growing marketability.
As of November 2024, On3 Sports and Sportskeeda estimated Milroe’s net worth at approximately $500,000, largely driven by NIL income. His NIL valuation alone was later listed around $1.2 million, representing a sharp increase tied to on-field performance and social growth.
Milroe finished his Alabama career with 6,011 passing yards, 45 passing touchdowns, 2,038 rushing yards, and 33 rushing scores. That dual-threat profile made him attractive to brands and kept him relevant even during uneven stretches as a passer.
He also brings a built-in audience. Milroe has roughly 371,000 Instagram followers and more than 30,000 on X, numbers that helped sustain his endorsement value regardless of draft position.
