Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is nursing a groin and knee injury, and ahead of Tuesday, he didn't take part in the team's walkthrough practice. During the Monday session, he appeared limited, and this scenario on Tuesday only worsened his prospects of being healthy for the upcoming games. The injury kept him out of the Cowboys' win over the Washington Commanders this past Sunday, which became the first game he has had to miss this season. Fans are worried for the team since Diggs played an important role in the team.
What Diggs' Absence Means for the Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys had to make changes since now Diggs wont be able to play in the next few matches. Even though the other players managed to win the last match, it remains unclear when Diggs will be back on the field since he has sustained a major injury which casts a shadow over his eventual return.
Rookie Caelen Carson Also Dealing with Injury
The injury report for the Cowboys got worse with rookie cornerback Caelen Carson downgraded to "Did Not Participate" on Tuesday. This downgrade will have the Cowboys possibly losing another cornerback for the upcoming games. Carson's injury does not help the secondary and reduces the options Dallas has for covering the wide receivers of its opponents. In case Diggs and Carson are unable to play any further matches, the team will have to depend on their other players.

If Diggs and Carson miss more games, then the Cowboys will need Josh Butler and Israel Mukuamu to step up. These two backup cornerbacks have seen limited playing time but may be called on to take on bigger roles. Butler and Mukuamu will need to be on top of their game in order for the Cowboys to hold their edge. Whether or not the team wins the next few weeks will largely depend on how well these two can take the responsibility to fill in for the injured players.
