Travis Kelce Stuns Kansas City Before Super Bowl by Revealing Major Changes to Patrick Mahomes' Offense

The Kansas City Chiefs approach their third consecutive Super Bow... Read More
The last three years for the Kansas City Chiefs could easily be described as "unpredictable." Without that unpredictability, the Chiefs wouldn’t be just one game shy of their unprecedented 3-peat. Nine teams have won two consecutive Lombardis, but none have pulled off the historic feat the Chiefs are poised to undertake. And what do you think their charm for the next Super Bowl lies? “Their offense,” suggested Travis Kelce.

A New Era for the Kansas City Chiefs: Changes to Offensive Strategy Ahead of Super Bowl LIX

Travis Kelce appeared on They Call It Late Night, hosted by his brother Jason Kelce. When Jason asked, “How is this Chiefs team different from the last two?” Travis replied, “This team still feels hungry, new almost, we got a lot of new players. A lot of different faces from the previous two Super Bowl runs. It’s really a different identity on the offensive side, for sure... It’s a new journeyman.”

This Chiefs team is far less explosive than in previous seasons. They’ve won 11 of 15 games by a single-score margin, including 17 consecutive one-score wins. The offense isn’t as dominant; in Super Bowl 57, the Chiefs averaged 29.2 points per game but have since dropped to 22.65 this year. Even Travis Kelce has felt the impact, posting just 8.5 yards per reception and 3 touchdowns. He still caught over 90 passes, but the offensive shift has affected his usual dominance.

Despite this, the Chiefs continue their trend of success. If Jason Kelce had retired last season, this year's Super Bowl wouldn’t just be a rematch of Super Bowl 57; it would also be a sequel to the brothers' face-off.

Ahead of Super Bowl LIX, Travis may have betrayed the Chiefs Kingdom. Appearing on his brother’s show, Travis shared, “I’m a Jason Kelce fanatic, dude. I love that guy man, I still got all of the gang greens from your guys’ Super Bowls and your run in Philly. I still got some Philly pride, man. I’m wishing the best for those guys, but…you know, it’s… Go Birds.” Jason, of course, didn’t buy it, saying, “There’s absolutely no chance you mean that.

Despite his words, Travis will likely be the one causing chaos for the Eagles on Sunday as he pursues another Super Bowl title.
