Travis Kelce’s future with the Chiefs has been a constant focus of conversation among fans, and the miserable season that the team had further fueled his retirement rumors. At 36, with a Hall of Fame résumé already locked in, walking away would have made sense for the tight end. The Kansas City Chiefs had just endured a rare down year, missing the playoffs after once being annual contenders. While Kelce himself has stated that he would decide on his future with his loved ones and the team, a new report from the Daily Mail suggests that he might be rethinking his priorities. The tight end is reportedly thrilled with the return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. Kelce believes that Bieniemy has what it takes to elevate the team and get them back to their peak.

Eric Bieniemy’s return appears to reignite belief for Kelce and the Chiefs

According to the Daily Mail, Bieniemy's move back to the Chiefs deeply resonated with Kelce. A source told the Daily Mail, “Travis is very excited that Eric Bieniemy is coming back to the Chiefs as offensive coordinator, as it will jolt the team’s offense back to their glory days.” Kelce himself shared his excitement on the New Heights podcast.
While talking with his brother Jason, Kelce did not hide his feelings, as he said, “I think it’s great.
It’s a marriage that is going to pick up right where it left off.” He later added, “He’s one of my favorite coaches of all time, one of my favorite people of all time. I just love the guy.” The source also stated, 'Travis was at his best under Bieniemy's guidance, and that signing has been a huge deal for him, along with wanting to play with Patrick one more time. The source further added that Kelce is actively speaking with Mahomes, Bieniemy, and Andy Reid as he weighs his decision. Fans will be especially ecstatic to hear what the source heard about all the retirement rumors, stating, “Travis wants to go out on his terms… It looks like it would now take some serious convincing for him to retire.”Pat McAfee added fuel to the conversation, suggesting that Kelce’s comments hinted at another chapter rather than an ending. As McAfee noted, Kelce has little left to prove, both on and off the field. Yet the pull of one more season, on his own terms, would be every fan’s dream, according to McAfee. It feels like the tides are now turning, and Kelce might make a big splash with his possible return in the near future.
