THROWBACK: When the FBI Helped Find $500K Worth Super Bowl Jersey of NFL Legend Tom Brady

“Hey, did someone take my jersey? I put it in my bag. I absolutely hundred percent put it in the bag.” asked worried Super Bowl LI winner Tom Brady as soon as he entered the locker room from the bathroom. The NFL legend remembered putting it in the black bag.

But the jersey was nowhere to be found. Tom Brady, just, let the jersey out of sight for a few minutes. A few minutes- when Brady clicked pictures with Jimmy and Jacoby inside the bathroom. The next thing the 7-time Super Bowl winner remembers is having no Super Bowl LI jersey in his black bag kept in the locker room.

“Do you have any update on where the jersey is?” the media asked Tom Brady back then in the post-win press conference

Worry-stricken Tom Brady replied, “The jersey, yeah, I put in my bag, and then I came out, and it wasn’t there anymore. I really wanted that jersey. I remember vividly having my black bag sitting in my locker and putting it stuffing it down into my bag. I went to the bathroom, I saw Jimmy, and I saw Jacoby. And we actually took a picture together inside of, like, the bathroom. So, when I went back out into the locker room, well, sure enough, I looked in my bag, and there was no jersey.”

“What Tom Brady didn’t realize was that the person who stole his jersey might have been closer to him than he thought. He posed with Tom Brady for a selfie just minutes before stealing his jersey. This wasn’t the first time (he was) taking pictures with Tom either. In that video, you can see, at one point, he actually takes a selfie with Tom Brady. We received a call after the Federal Police went to the house. They said they were successful in recovering not only Super Bowl 51 jersey but also Super Bowl 49 and that they had an additional recovery of Von Miller’s Super Bowl 50 helmet.” shared the media.

Super Bowl jersey thief Martin Ortega named his stealing demeanor “an impulse from an uncontrolled fan.”

After the FBI found former New England Patriots quarterback’s jerseys from the house of Martin Ortega, Ortega shared, “I knew what I did was wrong. I’m quite embarrassed. Now that I’ve analyzed what happened, I think this is very similar or the same as addiction. I invested a lot in these items, and that ultimately made me want to have more and more and to have what nobody else could have.” Ortega named his stealing demeanor “an impulse from an uncontrolled fan.”

Dylan Wagner cracked the 7-time Super Bowl winner’s jersey mysterious disappearance case. The 19-year-old is a memorabilia collector and was in constant touch with the Super Bowl jersey thief, Martin Mauricio Ortega. Ortega shared a few snaps of jerseys with Dylan Wagner, and Wagner noticed it had the NFL Legend Tom Brady’s Super Bowl XLIX jersey.


Dylan Wagner shared, “I knew exactly who had (the jersey). (Ortega) sent me 30 photos of his collection. Front and center was Tom Brady’s Super Bowl XLIX jersey. I asked him outright, ‘How did you get that?’ And he says, ‘I’ll tell you later.’”



Wagner tipped off the police, and Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady got his valuable jerseys back! Patriots owner Robert Kraft gifted a football (The Duke) signed by Tom Brady himself to Dylan Wagner.
