Throwback when NFL fans trolled Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens for his failed attempt at the Lambeau Leap

Jonathan Owens was mocked online for a failed attempt at the Lambeau Leap, often performed by NFL players to celebrate touchdowns. Despite his wife Simone Biles' gymnastics expertise, Owens didn't succeed. Fans had mixed reactions, with some attributing his failure to a lack of support from the crowd. Jonathan may need to take some lessons from Simone.

On January 5, 2025, Jonathan Owens was heavily mocked by the internet world for his failed attempt at the Lambeau Leap. NFL fans had hoped the safety would have taken a few gymnastic lessons from his wife, Simone Biles (the greatest gymnast), before trying the leap.
The Lambeau Leap is a feast of a touchdown where the NFL player dives into the crowd present at the stands. The enthusiastic fans catch him, and they all celebrate the victory together (provided the fans support the player's team, haha)!

Where did the Lambeau Leap come from?

In 1993, former Green Bay Packers safety LeRoy Butler performed the Lambeau Leap for the first time while playing against the Los Angeles Raiders. After scoring a touchdown, Butler ran up to the end zone and leaped into the bleachers at Lambeau Field.

The historic Lambeau Leap caught popularity in 1996 when Green Bay Packers wide receiver Robert Brooks performed it eight times in succession over two NFL seasons. He even released a rap single titled "Jump In The Stands", which he dedicated to LeRoy Butler.

Simone Biles is considered one of the greatest gymnasts in the globe, with over 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals in her bag. It's as if the spirit of 'Lambeau Leaps' flows through her veins or is even a part of her warm-up routine. However, her husband attempted to make the same leap and failed spectacularly; it was an unexpected outcome for all of us!
