The Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran linebacker Devin White, who signed a one-year deal offseason. White never appeared in a regular-season game for the Eagles. He was signed to provide a productive player and veteran presence in the Eagles' defense. However, White lost his position battle with Nakobe Dean and was kept off the field by younger linebackers and special teams contributors.

Devin White, the No.
5 overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, was released by the Philadelphia Eagles after four games without playing a snap. White, a first-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, started most of his rookie season and was the leading tackler for
Super Bowl winners in his second campaign. However, his production could be deceiving due to his PFF grades ranging from 36.1 to 51.9 and his liability in run defense. White's fifth-year option was not picked up by the Bucs, and he signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia this offseason.
White will now look to make an impact somewhere else and will have to find a new home before trade talks begin. White, a former No. 5 overall pick, played a crucial role in the 2020 Buccaneers' championship season and was a productive tackler. He was able to get to quarterbacks and force turnovers in Tampa. There should be a decent market for White.
White, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year contract, was expected to start but never played due to an ankle injury. Despite being healthy, the 26-year-old remained inactive and missed the last game for personal reasons. It is uncertain if he will continue with the team or if his absence is due to internal issues. His future in football is unclear at this time.
