Taylor Swift’s lyrical tributes: Why fans expect Travis Kelce to be in her next album

In this album, she included a reference to singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus in the song I Can Do It with a Broken Heart. Speaking with PEOPLE, Dacus revealed her reaction to hearing her name in a Swift song, saying:

“Well, I pushed play on the album just like, 'Oh, this is so crazy.' This is the first Taylor record to come out since meeting her, and listening to a friend's record feels so much different than a stranger's record. So I was like, 'This is really weird. This voice that I've heard basically what feels like my whole waking life saying my name.'”
This moment highlights how personal Taylor Swift’s songwriting can be, leading fans to anticipate that Kelce, as a major figure in her life, will receive a similar nod in an upcoming track.

While Kelce’s name has yet to appear outright, Swifties are convinced he has already inspired multiple tracks on The Tortured Poets Department. The song The Alchemy, track 15 on the album, is heavily speculated to be about Kelce, given its romantic themes and references to triumph and teamwork—terms synonymous with professional football.
Additionally, the 22nd track, which features football metaphors and likens love to a high school romance, further fuels speculation that Kelce has already found a place in Swift’s songwriting. If these subtle nods are any indication, a direct reference could be on the horizon.
