Tavia Hunt, NFL Owner's Wife, Calls Out FEMA for Alleged Mismanagement of $1.4 Billion in Hurricane Relief—Raising Questions About Priorities

FEMA faces accusations of misusing $1.4 billion intended for Hurr... Read More
FEMA is being accused of squandering $1.4 billion allocated for Hurricane Helene relief efforts by Tavia Hunt, owner Clark Hunt's wife of the Kansas City Chiefs. This comes after Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas announced that FEMA was running low on funds available to respond to future hurricane-related emergencies. Now, following a previous New Year's Eve address in which Mr Obama condemned the House of Representatives, Hunt argues that in the last two years, billions of taxpayer dollars were redirected to promote illegal immigration because FEMA ran out of funds to cover domestic disasters.

FEMA Faces Funding Shortfall Amid Hurricane Season

It's only hours since Mayorkas held a press conference when Hunt said FEMA is currently well-equipped to deal with the immediate results of Hurricane Helene, which killed more than 220 people. The problem, he went on to say, would be when the next big hurricane came.

Mayorkas stated that there's an urgent need for Congress to increase funds. As things stand, Mayorkas said that FEMA does not have enough money in its current budget to deal with any more disasters this season.

Rachel Bush Holds Back Further Indictment Over FEMA's Miscue Managing

Another attacker is the wife of Miami Dolphins star Jordan Poyer, Rachel Bush. She joined Hunt in slamming FEMA's financial management. After a social media post in defense of foreign aid, Bush contended that the U.S. federal government should withhold every penny in foreign assistance until it meets its domestic responsibilities. She pointed out that funds meant for disaster relief at FEMA have been wasted, leaving the agency unprepared for future disasters.

Political Views of Tavia Hunt and Rachel Bush Draw Attention

Hunt and Bush have been forthright and unapologetic about their political views on social media. Recently, she was in news for attacking Vice President Kamala Harris, while Hunt commented on increasing inflation. The furore raised by both on the two issues confronting the US government-not prioritizing domestic disaster relief after Hurricane Helene, but sending foreign aid-will only makes for potential fireworks before the polls.
