Another fan pointed to Ott's listed playing weight and questioned the image's authenticity.
"Come on guys he is listed at 200 pounds. This is so fake."

The skepticism continued throughout the day. Several fans argued that the body shown in the picture did not match previous photos of Ott from college or from Kansas City's offseason activities.

That reaction makes sense. Jaydn Ott arrived in the NFL known for his versatility and explosiveness, not for carrying an unusually massive frame. During his college career, he built a reputation as a playmaker who could contribute as both a runner and a receiver.

As the debate grew, reporters and fans searched through recent photo databases, including Getty Images, Imagn and the Chiefs' official galleries. Those searches failed to produce evidence that Ott had undergone such a dramatic physical transformation.

As a result, many concluded that the viral image either had been altered or did not actually feature the rookie running back.

While the photo generated plenty of discussion, there is currently no verified evidence that Ott has added the kind of size shown in the viral post. For now, the biggest takeaway is not a shocking transformation. It is how quickly one eye-catching image can take over NFL social media.
