“Arizona Cardinals have requested to interview Dan Williams for their QB coach position,” Wolfe wrote. “Williams is in Year 7 with Chiefs, last three as assistant QB coach. A young, rising coach and key figure for Patrick Mahomes with a chance for elevation.”



Williams has spent seven seasons with Kansas City and has worked directly with Mahomes in his current role over the last three years. His responsibilities include film preparation, opponent study, and week-to-week support that feeds into Mahomes’ game-day execution. Though he operates away from the spotlight, his presence forms part of the quarterback’s daily structure.

The news went viral amid a broader offseason discussion around the Chiefs’ O-line. On Feb. 4, 2026, WR Tyquan Thornton addressed his future during a media interaction at the team facility following a scheduled workout.

“I would definitely want to be back to Kansas City,” Thornton said during the session. “But wherever I go, I want to have my fair share of targets and contribute at a high level.”

Thornton added that clarity around role and alignment would shape his decision moving forward. While his remarks focused on playing opportunities, they echoed a larger theme emerging this offseason, one centered on balance between stability and change.
