Jason Kelce has undergone a considerable change - from being an
NFL star to a media personality. Eagles centre Kelce has now become a prominent figure in the media world. Now he co-hosts the popular podcast "New Heights" with his brother who is Kansas City Chiefs tight end,
Travis Kelce. He also promotes a wide range of products from Wawa to Buffalo Wild Wings.
Tonight Kelce debuts as a Studio analyst on ESPN. He will be on ESPN’s Monday Night Football covering the game between the New York Jets And the San Francisco 49ers. This is one of the most anticipated NFL Media debuts and is rivalled only by Tom Brady’s new role at Fox Sports. Kelce admits that he is still Adjusting to his high-profile life.
Earlier this year, Kelce found himself in a strange situation when he and his wife Kylie were in Margate when they were being heckled by a fan. This happened after they declined a photo request. The moment was caught on film and the footage quickly went viral.
In an interview with The Inquirer, he said “It’s a little much at times. It’s a little annoying when you want to go to the arcade with your daughters and everybody wants to take a picture. But you understand where they’re coming from.”
“If Jim Thome walked down the street, I’d be doing the same thing,” Kelce added.
His new role at ESPN will pair him with Scott Van Pelt, Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark.
Kelce is expected to maintain a down-to-earth style in his new role and would be seen in casual attire rather than formal suits. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Van Pelt said, “I think there’s a sincerity and earnestness to who he shows himself to be. He wasn’t the superstar coming out of college, but he’s going to go to Canton. I think people gravitate towards a story like that. This dude is going to be awesome.”
Kelce’s media journey started on February 8th 2018. Kelce delivered a speech in a Mummers outfit. This was after the Eagles’ Super Bowl win. This moment along with the success of "New Heights" garnered widespread attention.
