On July 2, Jon Blau, Clemson Athletics Reporter at The Post and Courier, shared
NFL legend Brandon Jacobs’ workout video. Blau captioned it: “A reminder that Brandon Jacobs was a bruising 6-foot-4, 264-pound running back in the NFL. Reminder necessary because his son, Clemson freshman Brayden, makes him look like Darren Sproles.” Darren Sproles is a 5-foot-6 former running back for the Philadelphia Eagles. Jacobs’ son Brayden not only made him look like Sproles but also made him wait for his turn. The NFL legend was doing an advanced level of rope sit-ups, and his son was probably tired of being the rope! Why? Because he held that rope underneath his feet! Still can’t picture it? Check out this video:
Fans reacted to New York Giants former running back Brandon Jacobs’ workout with his son, Brayden
One fan wrote, “Remind me, is his son an RB too?” - hinting at another legend in the making. While another fan commented, “OMG what does his mother look like?” - wondering if Brandon Jacobs is 6-foot-4 and he looked like Darren Sproles before his son, Brayden, then his mother? She could or would be tall too. Another fan chimed in, “Moms gotta be a WNBA player.”
A third fan pictured Brayden Jacobs walking down his father’s footsteps by playing for the New York Giants, “Future LT or RT for the @Giants.” A fourth fan called him a computer-generated imagery - “He looks like CGI.” A concerned fan enquired, “What on earth did you feed that boy growing up?”
A fan hunted down Brayden’s profile from the Clemson Tigers’ official website and wrote, “6’7”.
320.” In January 2024, Ezekiel Trezevant IV of Sports Illustrated reported that Brayden Jacobs had committed to Clemson University. He would play college football as an offensive lineman.
One fan watched the father-son workout video and took it at face value, leaving a hilarious comment: “His son looks like he was dragged into playing football instead of staying home and gaming.” But that couldn’t be the case. On July 2, Stephen Douglas of Sports Illustrated reported that Brayden will be a freshman offensive lineman at Clemson this fall.
What is Brandon Jacobs doing now?
In June 2021, the 2-time Super Bowl Champion, Brandon Jacobs, shared with Dan Benton of USA Sports, “I’m currently coaching high school football and running a youth program, which I’m perfectly content with doing the rest of my life.”
And as the viral father-son workout video suggests, Jacobs is also coaching his son, Brayden. Not just coaching, but also staying fit himself.
