NEW DELHI: Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Mitch Trubisky, has swiftly found a new home in the NFL. According to NFL Media reports, the Buffalo Bills have inked a two-year deal with the veteran signal-caller worth $5.25 million, with potential earnings of up to $8.45 million. Trubisky is guaranteed $2.7 million for the upcoming season.

Trubisky spent the 2021 season as the backup to Josh Allen in Buffalo, playing in six games and throwing for 43 yards. Subsequently, he signed a two-year, $14.25 million deal with the Steelers ahead of the 2022 season.

However, his stint in Pittsburgh proved challenging, as he went 2-5 as the starter, completing 64.1% of his passes for 1,884 yards, eight touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Trubisky lost the starting job by Week 5 in 2022, with rookie Kenny Pickett taking over.

In 2023, Trubisky briefly regained the starting position after Pickett's injury in Week 13, but lost both starts, throwing for 359 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Mason Rudolph replaced Trubisky and went undefeated in the final three games, securing a playoff berth for the Steelers.

Selected as the No. 2 overall pick by the Chicago Bears in the 2017 NFL Draft, Trubisky went 29-21 with the Bears before hitting free agency. The Bills' decision to bring back the former Chicago quarterback reflects a strategic move amidst a busy day for the team's front office. In addition to Trubisky's signing, the Bills parted ways with six players, including Jordan Poyer and Tre'Davious White, restructured contracts, including Von Miller's deal, and reportedly re-signed safety Taylor Rapp ahead of the upcoming free agency period.
