Maxx Crosby recently posted a picture of himself on X. He flexed his arms on a hospital bed, wearing an adjustable post-operative knee brace. “Clean Up Time,” Crosby captioned the post. “Successful Surgery. Expecting 200% recovery. [three flexed biceps] Year 8 Will Be The Greatest Year Yet. [eagle and diamond emojis].”

Let’s Go with Matthew Stafford, Maxx Crosby, Peter King & Jim Gray SiriusXM Podcast that he planned to fly to Los Angeles on Monday to meet orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported on X that Crosby had meniscus surgery.
Lingering knee injury for most of the 2025 season
Maxx Crosby dealt with a lingering knee injury throughout the 2025 season.
He was limited in practice, often sat out, and appeared on the injury report for several weeks. He was ruled out of the final two games and placed on injured reserve. He was unhappy with this decision.
NFL Insider Jay Glazer reported on X then: “The Raiders told Maxx Crosby they want to shut him down for the last two games.
Crosby, who has played with injuries for much of the year, vehemently disagreed and has left the building, @nflonfox has learned.
This could lead to questions about his future in Vegas.”
Maxx Crosby’s contract details and future with the Las Vegas Raiders
In March 2025, the five-time Pro Bowler signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension with the Raiders, including $91.5 million guaranteed.
The deal keeps him with the team through the 2029 season. His average salary of $35.5 million reportedly surpasses the $35 million average deal of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
Raiders general manager John Spytek recently spoke about Crosby’s future with Las Vegas. “I’ve had the opportunity in the last several weeks to spend a lot of time with Maxx,” Spytek said. “And it’s been well documented that he didn’t love the idea of not playing football.
You always want that from your best players. In fact, that’s why they’re your best players. So, I love Maxx. He embodies what a Raider is.”
Crosby accumulated 10 sacks, 73 tackles, and 28 tackles for loss in the 15 games he started in 2025.
