Baltimore Ravens expected to revisit Maxx Crosby deal after blockbuster trade

The discussion of the Maxx Crosby contract gained traction on March 8, when Mike Florio addressed the situation in an Instagram reel posted by Pro Football Talk.

“I suspect there will be an adjustment, and I suspect that the Ravens are smart enough to know you need to have something ready to go,” Florio said in the March 8 Instagram video. “It needs to be pre-negotiated, and you get it done not long after Max Crosby officially becomes a member of the Ravens.”

Baltimore paid a massive price to land Crosby. The Baltimore Ravens reportedly sent multiple first-round picks, including selections in 2026 and 2027, to the Raiders to secure one of the league’s most disruptive defenders. The trade alone signals urgency from Baltimore. The team finished the 2025 season with an 8-9 record and missed the playoffs. Their pass rush also struggled badly. The defense produced only 30 sacks, the franchise’s lowest total in 15 years.


That context explains why the Ravens targeted Crosby. Since entering the NFL in 2019, Crosby has built one of the most consistent pass-rushing resumes in football. He has recorded 69.5 sacks, more than 130 tackles for loss, and around 360 quarterback pressures during that span. He also produced four double-digit sack seasons and earned five Pro Bowl selections.

Baltimore inherited the remaining years of the three-year, $106.5 million extension Crosby signed with the Raiders in 2025. Some seasons in the deal yield payouts of nearly $29 million. At the time, the agreement briefly made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. The market has moved quickly since then. Elite edge rushers such as Micah Parsons and T. J. Watt continue to push the ceiling higher. Because of that shift, Baltimore may restructure the deal with new guarantees or incentives.

For the Ravens, the goal looks simple. Secure Crosby long-term while keeping the roster competitive. If the team finalizes an updated Crosby contract, it will mark the next step in Baltimore’s aggressive push toward the 2026 playoffs.
