Las Vegas Raiders list running back Josh Jacobs doubtful for game at Indianapolis Colts
NEW DELHI: Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is doubtful for the upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts as he continues to recover from a quadriceps injury. Jacobs has missed the last two games, and interim coach Antonio Pierce indicated that a final decision on his availability would be made closer to game time on Sunday.
Pierce commented, "That’s going to be a game-time decision. I mean, no need to rush it. If he can go at one o’clock on Sunday, I’m happy with that." Jacobs has been a key contributor for the Raiders this season, accumulating 805 rushing yards and scoring six touchdowns.
In Jacobs' absence, Zamir White has stepped in as the starting running back, showcasing his skills by rushing for 214 yards in the past two games with an average of 5.5 yards per carry. Pierce acknowledged White's performance, stating, "I think he’s taking advantage of the opportunity, and that’s the National Football League. I think he has earned the trust, the belief with our offensive staff and our O-line."
The Raiders will also be without tight end Michael Mayer for the second consecutive game due to a toe injury. Additionally, tight end Jesper Horsted has been placed on injured reserve, leading the team to sign tight end Zach Gentry from Cincinnati's practice squad.
Offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (knee) and center Andre James (ankle) are listed as questionable, while tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder) was not given an injury designation but participated in limited practice. Guard Greg Van Roten did not practice due to personal reasons.
On the defensive side, Maxx Crosby (knee) and Malcolm Koonce (ribs), along with wide receiver D.J. Turner (shoulder), were limited in practice, but none received injury designations. The Raiders are preparing for a crucial game against the Colts with their playoff hopes hanging in the balance.
