Kelly Stafford Admits to Taking Rams QB Matthew Stafford, Worth $160 Million, for Granted

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been the backbone of both his family and his team. Married for nine years, his wife, Kelly Stafford, recently opened up about their relationship on her podcast, "The Morning After." While the couple's bond is strong, Kelly candidly admitted she sometimes takes her star husband for granted—a habit she's determined to break in 2025. Here's what she had to say:

Kelly's Heartfelt Reflection on Marriage

Matthew Stafford, who signed a massive $160 million contract with the Rams (per Spotrac), ensures his family enjoys an incredible life. But beyond the financial security, Kelly emphasized the love and support Matthew brings to their home.


"I take Matthew for granted a lot, and this new year, I want to do a better job of reminding him of how grateful I am to be married to a man who is incredible with our daughters, has a level head about most everything except for my mornings with my kids. I win that one because you're not here.





Kelly also confessed that she has to work on her response when her husband is having a bad day.


"I know he supplies us with an incredible life but not only that, he fills this home with love constantly," Kelly said. "If I'm having a bad day, he is the first one coming over to me, hugging me, asking me. If he is having a bad day, I'm the one going, 'Well, I had a bad day too'. And that's not a marriage um and I need to be better with it." (21:40)

Celebrating Playoff Success and Matthew's Leadership

With the Los Angeles Rams having secured a vital Week 17 win against the Arizona Cardinals, which sealed their place in the playoffs, emotions were running high—especially for Kelly. Overjoyed by the team's achievement, she took to Instagram to share her excitement with her followers. In a heartfelt post, Kelly expressed her pride and enthusiasm for the Rams' perseverance throughout the season. Her post was full of celebration about the team's win, and yet, it spoke of her support with no doubts whatsoever, allowing the fans to glimpse just how much this meant to her.


"PLAYOFF BOUND. When you start at 1-4, most would think it’s over and find it hard to keep going. ... What an incredible example you set for our girls and all the kids watching you play” she wrote.




She also lavished praise on her husband's resilience, calling him the "comeback kid," she wrote, "Congrats to the comeback kid, the OG of arm angles and no-lookers, the “it’s never over” guy, a true leader, toughest QB out there and future HOFer. 0-0. LFG."

How to Deal with Social Media Criticism

Kelly has her own fair share of online trolls, for which she recently came clean. She described it as "horrible," shedding tears over some of the harsh comments. She, however, still strives hard to lean on supporting her husband and family.


The Staffords, leading with Matthew Stafford on the Rams and entering the playoffs, have once again won over fans not only on the field but off as well. Kelly was honest about her relationship and decided to make things better for the new year, showing people a good example.
