NEW DELHI: Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered a hamstring injury during the fourth quarter of their 27-20 home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The injury occurred as Jefferson stumbled while running a route in the red zone. Although he was observed on the sidelines late in the game, he did not return to action.

Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell commented on Jefferson's injury, saying, "It's still very early. See where he's at as we move along here and try to diagnose exactly what that injury is and what that timeline looks like."

During the game, Jefferson managed three catches for 28 yards for the Vikings, who were unable to secure their second consecutive victory following their win against Carolina the previous week.

Losing Jefferson for any significant period would be a significant setback for Minnesota. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year had led the league in receiving yards with 543 through the first four weeks of the season.

The game also saw Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce sustain an ankle injury earlier in the contest. Kelce missed a portion of the game but returned later to catch a touchdown pass, which ultimately proved to be the difference-maker in the match.
