Josh Allen playoff record: Bills QB joins Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes with recent milestone

Josh Allen has reached another important milestone in his NFL journey, one that places him in elite company. With Buffalo’s recent playoff win, the Bills quarterback has now joined a rare list that includes only two other greats Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. While the milestone underlines Allen’s consistency in the postseason, it also comes with a reminder of what still separates him from the very top tier.

Josh Allen enters elite playoff company

With the Wild Card victory, Josh Allen has now recorded at least one playoff win in six consecutive seasons. That streak places him alongside Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, the only quarterbacks in the modern era to achieve the same feat.



Brady had the longest run, winning at least one postseason game in eight straight seasons from 2011 to 2018. Mahomes came in second with a seven-season streak from 2018 to 2024. Allen's six-year run puts him squarely in that conversation, showing how dependable Buffalo has been since he took over the offense.

What makes Josh Allen’s record stand out

There is another important reason why Allen's postseason win is important. It is Buffalo's first road playoff win since 1992, ending a skid that had lasted more than 30 years. Once again, he came through when it counted, leading a late comeback and cementing his status as one of the league's most dangerous fourth-quarter quarterbacks.



However, there is an obvious difference between Allen’s resume and that of Brady and Mahomes. While all three quarterbacks share similar playoff streaks, Brady and Mahomes turned their runs into championships. Each made multiple Super Bowl appearances during their streaks and lifted the Lombardi Trophy three times.

Allen, despite repeated postseason appearances, is still chasing his first Super Bowl victory. In previous years, his path was often blocked by Mahomes and the Chiefs. This season, with Kansas City out of the AFC playoff picture, the opportunity feels more open than ever.

The next challenge will not be easy. The Bills are set to face a tough Denver Broncos side on the road, against one of the league’s most aggressive defenses. A win there would not only extend Allen’s playoff streak but also move Buffalo one step closer to the AFC Championship Game.

For now, Allen’s latest milestone confirms his place among the NFL’s elite. The question that remains is whether he can turn consistency into a defining postseason run.
