The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”
The Jets are known for their aggressive pursuit in talent acquisition, and thus a move for Garrett could help them enhance their defense. Beyond this, he is a premier pass rusher with double-digit sack seasons in all seven years in the NFL, making him a serious game-changer for New York.
Garrett is presently under a five-year, $125 million contract signed in 2020, with two years remaining. Acquiring him would involve some maneuvers concerning the salary cap, but the leadership he provides coupled with his undeniable defensive impact could prove to be worthy of the investment.
