Trevor Lawrence has been back in the spotlight for all the right reasons as the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback took the field during OTAs this week—just months after undergoing surgery on his non-throwing shoulder. Despite dealing with a significant AC joint injury sustained in Week 9 of the 2024 season, Lawrence’s presence and participation in spring practices signal a promising turn in his recovery journey.

Trevor Lawrence speaks out after shoulder procedure, confident he’ll be ready to lead Jaguars in 2025

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Trevor Lawrence offered an encouraging update, expressing confidence that he will be ready for Week 1. “There’s not really a set deadline on it, just because we don’t play a game until this fall. Obviously, I’m going to be ready sooner than that, so I’m very optimistic I’ll be perfectly good for the season,” he stated during his press conference. For Jaguars fans and the new coaching staff led by Liam Coen, this is exactly the reassurance they needed.

The injury saga began during a matchup against the Eagles, where Lawrence’s shoulder was initially hurt. After missing a couple of games and eventually suffering a concussion upon his return, his season was cut short, and surgery became unavoidable.
Yet his recovery timeline, despite the complications, has been managed methodically and with long-term performance in mind.Currently throwing and gradually increasing his workload, Lawrence is approaching his rehabilitation with patience and precision. “The amount of throws might be a little lighter to start and work our way up… maybe just some handoff stuff will be a little limited, but besides that I think that won’t last too long,” he explained.
Head coach Liam Coen confirmed that Lawrence is being monitored closely and is currently on a pitch count. “He’s been working on it himself right now, in terms of monitoring that with the doctors… Everything’s moving forward. He feels really good right now, so excited about that,” Coen shared. But it’s not just about physical health. Lawrence and Coen are using this window to revamp some technical aspects of his game, particularly footwork. With Coen’s system emphasizing rhythm and timing, Lawrence has identified his mechanics as an area that needs refinement. “There’s some things I’ve known about my footwork over the years of playing that I felt like have been a little bit of a weakness,” Lawrence admitted, emphasizing the need to align his progressions with consistent foot placement.Even though he isn’t yet at full capacity, the 2025 season will be a defining chapter in Trevor Lawrence’s NFL career. If his current trajectory holds, Jaguars fans may finally witness their franchise quarterback deliver the consistency and leadership they’ve long been waiting for. Also Read: The problem with Hailee Steinfeld’s music career: Is Josh Allen's fiance taken seriously as a pop star in today’s music industry?
