The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles made their way into New Orleans to play Super Bowl LIX, with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce sporting a vintage look with a special tribute - that is a white and purple Super Bowl XXXI cap. Well, an NFL star indeed did take a leaf from the girlfriend's book because both the stars love vintage clothes. And so do they both love special messages and tributes in what they wear.
Travis Kelce donned his own Taylor Swift Easter eggs on Grammys Night
Travis Kelce donned a cap to New Orleans for Super Bowl XXXI, which was hosted by New Orleans and played in the Superdome in 1997. The Green Bay Packers beat the Patriots 35-21. The game is also important for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who won his first Super Bowl as an assistant coach in 1997.
Taylor Swift honored Travis Kelce by attending 2025 Grammys in a Kansas City Chiefs-red Vivienne Westwood corset minidress, while Kelce was unable to appear in person to prepare for Super Bowl and donned his golden outfit. Kelce, who will be watching the Super Bowl in New Orleans, wore a Grammys-gold Palm Angels tracksuit, Versace sunglasses, a Louis Vuitton bag, and a vintage Super Bowl baseball cap, a nod to the 1997 game played in the city.
Fans believe the couple coordinated their outfits to be an Easter egg of her "Daylight" lyrics, “I once believed love would be (Burnin’ red) / But it’s golden / Like daylight, like daylight / Like daylight, daylight.” Swift’s Grammys look had another Kelce Easter egg, a “T” chain hanging off her thigh.
The initial charm appears to be a reference to her Reputation song "Call It What You Want." Swift sings, “I want to wear his initial / On a chain ’round my neck, chain ’round my neck / Not because he owns me / But ’cause he really knows me.”
Swift initially referenced her then-boyfriend Joe Alwyn in her song, but she later changed it to reflect her current relationship with Kelce during her Eras Tour, showcasing her ability to adapt her music to her current life. The lyric of “Karma” from Midnights originally went: “Karma is the guy on the screen / Coming straight home to me.” But she started singing it as: “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs / Coming straight home to me.”
