Hailee Steinfeld's home is no longer just a place to relax. It has become a place shaped by fresh starts, calm routines, and a stronger sense of purpose. As she became a mother with Josh Allen, the focus moved from style to how she felt. Every part of her home now shows her intention, warmth, and desire to make things comfortable for herself and her growing family.
That shift did not happen overnight. In the weeks leading up to her daughter’s arrival, Steinfeld found herself carefully rethinking what “home” should mean. The process was not about perfection. It was about presence. She leaned into small details, from lighting to layout, making sure each choice felt right. “I have been going back and forth on so many details—more than I care to admit—but it really has been such a fun part about getting ready for this new season of life,” she says.
Hailee Steinfeld gives rare glimpse into her home life and new-mom routine
Steinfeld’s approach is rooted in emotion rather than aesthetics. She shares, “bright and airy and comfortable, and lighting is a big thing for me—warm, soft lighting.” That philosophy shapes both her California base and her time in New York, where Allen’s football commitments keep them grounded during the season.
Her mornings now begin with a conscious reset. “I have been prioritizing opening my curtains and getting natural light immediately,” she explains, a habit that replaces the old reflex of reaching for her phone. It is a small change, but one that sets the tone for slower, more mindful days.
Inside the home, comfort blends with ritual. She admits, “My Hatch alarm sound machine. I'd been hearing about it forever. Friends love it, so I went ahead and got one, and it’s been life-changing [and] also helps with a slow morning natural wake-up that really sets the tone for your day in a different way than just an abrupt alarm.” Even something as simple as coffee has taken on new meaning. “There’s something about just watching my husband on a slower morning—when he has time to make himself a coffee—[partake in] that grounding, small act of care before the day begins.”
Meals remain intentional too. “I value a meal away from technology,” she says, highlighting the importance of connection in everyday life. And while she jokes about pets on furniture, her answer reveals her heart. “Emotionally, I say no, but realistically, they’re family.”
As her life evolves, so does her space. Not for show, but for living.
