In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, Christopher McDonald shared his thoughts on Kelce’s cameo, expressing both admiration and surprise. “I’m gonna give him thumbs up on his acting chops,” he said, highlighting the NFL star’s natural screen presence. “He was surprisingly good and he’s way too handsome for a football player.”


Kelce’s role in Happy Gilmore 2 marks yet another step in his expanding entertainment career. The film, set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on July 25, has already generated excitement among fans of the original. McDonald assured audiences that the sequel would stay true to its comedic roots while delivering fresh surprises.

Beyond his on-screen performance, Kelce also made a strong impression on McDonald on a personal level. “He’s a great guy. I had a lovely time meeting him,” he added, showing genuine appreciation for the athlete’s charm and character.

Although McDonald remains a devoted Buffalo Bills fan, he admitted that Kelce’s talent is undeniable—both on and off the field. However, his loyalty to Bills quarterback Josh Allen remains unshaken. “I’m a fan—although his team keeps beating my Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen? Now that’s a rockstar quarterback right there.”
