It is to be noted that Miami did not rush this decision, as they interviewed multiple candidates before settling on Hafley, who served as the Packers’ defensive coordinator for two seasons and previously led Boston College from 2020 to 2023. Dolphins chairman Stephen M. Ross expressed strong confidence in the direction of the franchise with Hafley’s hiring.

He believes that "great things are ahead for the Miami Dolphins with Jeff Hafley leading the way." Ross also pointed to Hafley’s "tenacity and grit" and his ability to earn trust as key traits for long-term success. General manager JonEric Sullivan, who worked closely with Hafley in Green Bay, echoed the same sentiment.
