Megyn Kelly called out the Philadelphia Eagles for apparently boycotting their planned White House visit upon winning the 2025 Super Bowl, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 22-40. The scandal took place when it seemed the team decided not to go to the customary post-Super Bowl affair, even after Donald Trump came to the game and rooted for the Chiefs. But a White House official explained what really happened, saying that as of yet, no official invitation had been made to the Eagles, further complicating the picture and calling into question the circumstances of the visit.

Megyn Kelly slammed the Eagles for apparently boycotting their planned White House visit

Megyn Kelly quit being a Philadelphia Eagles fan after a report indicated the team may not show up for the annual White House visit. The Eagles were invited to the nation's capital after their Super Bowl LIX win, but controversy has been sparked regarding whether or not they will engage in the tradition, following the team's 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Eagles internal deliberations have been detailed regarding not seeing President Trump before and after the Big Game, with the team having made the decision to decline an invitation to the White House in case of a win, like the 2017 Golden State Warriors. The U.S. Sun said that the overwhelming majority of individuals within the organization - and, more particularly, the player base - had resolved that they wouldn't visit the White House

NFL fans, including Kelly, have expressed their opinions on the Eagles' reported rejection of Trump on social media. In response to one Twitter user who wrote, “The Philadelphia Eagles decline to visit the White House. Wish I had known this before the super bowl. I wouldn't have wasted my time rooting for them. Eagles fan? Your team sucks,” the 54-year-old replied: “SAME. GO F YOURSELVES EAGLES. My husband is a fan so I got onboard but F this BS.”

However Outkick founder Clay Travis dismissed rumors that the Eagles had already decided on a White House visit in response to a U.S. Sun article. “White House source: the Philadelphia Eagles have not rejected a White House invite. The reports that have gone viral on social media are fake news. The White House has not even sent the official invite to the Eagles yet,” he wrote.

Kelly's opinion on the Eagles shifted due to uncertainty in details and the need for more concrete evidence. “Update: WH denies that Eagles were asked and this news is from a 2/6 The Sun report about Eagles’ alleged plans if asked. Could be (hopefully?) fake news!” she wrote before adding in a separate tweet: “The report that they planned to skip was from The Sun and pre dated the big game so could def be fake news. Hope so!!”

In 2017, the Eagles were invited to the White House after winning the Super Bowl, but President Trump withdrew the invitation due to concerns about players feeling uncomfortable. Instead, a ceremony was held for Eagles fans.
