Fans trashed Tom Brady for his major broadcasting mistake
The first NFC matchup of Wild Card Weekend saw the Philadelphia Eagles in action against the Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love. If they win, then the Eagles take on the Rams, Commanders, Buccaneers, or Vikings. If they pull off the upset, they'll meet the Detroit Lions. Tom Brady, former quarterback for the Patriots and Bucs, was among the first quarterbacks to call a playoff game, partnered with Fox Sports commentator Kevin Burkhardt and sideline reporter Erin Andrews.
Tom Brady mistakenly called the Eagles the Phillies instead of the Eagles, causing a stir on social media. Fans were unhappy with his approach in the booth and took to Twitter to voice their dissatisfaction. "Tom Brady calling the Eagles the “Phillies” Get him out of the booth!," one fan wrote. Another wrote, "Just get rid of him already." Another wrote, "It's almost like he's trying to get fired.”
In the first quarter, the seven-time Super Bowl champion made another mistake, discussing the Packers' pass rush and referring to Hurts as "Love." "The challenge I'm seeing already is the lack of pass rush by Green Bay," Brady said. "They just can't put enough pressure on Love. He's standing back there all day and surveyed the field, come back to Grant Calcaterra."
Fans immediately took to Twitter and trolled Brady. "Tom Brady called Jalen Hurts Love lol," one fan said. "The packer defense can’t get enough pressure on love according to Tom Brady," added another. "Tom Brady just called Hurts 'Love' :(," wrote a third. "Tom Brady just confused 'Hurts' with 'Love.' Oops," commented a fourth. "Tom Brady calling Jalen Hurts 'Love,'" posted a fifth.
